China Vows To Fight WTO Raw Materials Ruling

Law360, New York (August 24, 2011, 11:41 AM EDT) -- China vowed Wednesday to appeal a recent World Trade Organization ruling that the country's restrictions on the export of certain raw materials — which it says are meant to conserve scarce resources and limit pollution — violate international trade agreements.

Ministry of Commerce spokesman Shen Danyang said that the Chinese government still believed its policies were in line with the trade group's rules.
