FCC Resumes AT&T, T-Mobile Merger Review

Law360, New York (August 26, 2011, 4:23 PM EDT) -- The Federal Communications Commission announced Friday that it was resuming the 180-day clock on its review of the potential anti-competitive effects of the planned $39 billion merger between AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile USA Inc., saying AT&T had provided the necessary information for the clock to restart.

The FCC paused the informal review period of the merger July 20 to allow AT&T to submit revised documentation of new models that would reinforce the company's arguments as to the efficiencies the merger would generate for consumers.
