Law360, Los Angeles (August 26, 2011, 9:06 PM ET) -- A California state judge Friday denied U-Haul Co. of California Inc.'s bid to throw out allegations it violated a state consumer protection law by failing to post carcinogen warnings on propane dispensing units at its truck rental centers.
Los Angeles County Judge Jane L. Johnson rejected U-Haul’s argument that the company couldn’t be liable under California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, known as Proposition 65, since the law only required chemical suppliers to provide the warning, not retailers like U-Haul.
