Jenner & Block Kicked Off Cablevision Access Rate Case

Law360, New York (August 30, 2011, 7:45 PM ET) -- A Verizon Communications Inc. unit won a bid Tuesday in New York to disqualify Jenner & Block LLP as counsel for a Cablevision Systems Corp. subsidiary in a case accusing Verizon of refusing to pay contractual and tariffed rates for network access.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Joan Azrack granted Verizon Business Inc.'s motion to boot Jenner & Block from the case. Verizon argued that the firm had previously represented MCI Communications Corp., which merged with Verizon in 2006 and became Verizon Business, in a similar suit....
