Fannie, Freddie Seek Info On BofA's $8.5B MBS Settlement

Law360, New York (August 30, 2011, 7:49 PM EDT) -- The administrator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has made the latest effort to intervene in the approval of Bank of America Corp.'s $8.5 billion settlement with mortgage-backed securities investors, according to a Tuesday court filing in New York.

While the administrator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, said that it is “aware of no basis upon which it would raise a substantive objection ... at this time,” the agency needs more information on Bank of America's deal to see if it's fair to investors holding Countrywide...
