BP's Moscow Office Raided In Shareholder Dispute

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 12:12 PM EDT) -- Russian police raided the Moscow office of BP PLC on Wednesday in connection with a lawsuit by a minority shareholder angry over the oil giant's loss of a major Arctic exploration deal with state-owned OAO Rosneft, which instead went to rival Exxon Mobil Corp.

"We do not believe there is any legitimate basis whatsoever for the claim launched against BP ... and we intend to defend our interests vigorously," said BP spokesman Mark Salt in London. "There are no legitimate grounds for today's raid."
