Ex-Rite Aid GC's Legal Saga Ends With Time Served

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 1:22 PM ET) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Tuesday sentenced ex-Rite Aid Corp. general counsel Franklin C. Brown to time served and a year of supervised release, effectively ending the 83-year-old's decadelong legal saga, which included almost six years in prison for corporate crimes.

U.S. District Judge Sylvia H. Rambo sentenced the ailing former executive, freed in May when the Third Circuit vacated his seven-year sentence, to time served, according to his attorney, Ray M. Shepard of Smith Gildea & Schmidt LLC.
