Auction House Christie's Snags Top BBC Attorney

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 6:31 PM EDT) -- Famed auction house Christie's announced Wednesday it has hired Nicholas Eldred, formerly general counsel and secretary of the British Broadcasting Corp., as group general counsel.

Eldred will be responsible for overseeing the $5 billion company's legal affairs and advising company executives on governance, risk and compliance.

He spent 10 years at the BBC. As general counsel, Eldred led a team of 70 employees working on a number of legal, regulatory and commercial responsibilities, and provided legal and business advice to the company's senior management. He also...
