IBM Buys I2 To Boost Crime Fighting Technology

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 6:51 PM EDT) -- IBM Corp. on Wednesday announced the expansion of its business analytics and fraud prevention capabilities with the acquisition of i2 from an investor group led by Silver Lake Sumeru.

IBM did not disclose the terms of the deal, which adds i2’s intelligence and investigation software to IBM's data warehousing platform in order to give the public and private sectors the technology to combat crime and security threats.
