ITC Launches Probes Into Memory, Lighting Patent Claims

Law360, San Diego (August 31, 2011, 8:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission opened an investigation Wednesday into whether Hynix Semiconductor Inc. and others infringed Intellectual Ventures Management LLC’s dynamic random access memory patents, and also began a probe over Litepanels Inc.'s allegations that several companies’ lighting devices violated its patents.

The commission voted to institute investigations in both cases based on a July 12 complaint filed by Bellevue, Wash.-based Intellectual Ventures and an Aug. 3 complaint lodged by Van Nuys, Calif.-based Litepanels.
