Judge Tosses 3G Phone Actions Against Google, HTC

Law360, New York (September 01, 2011, 7:01 PM ET) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday dismissed breach of warranty class actions against Google Inc. and HTC Corp. alleging that Google's Nexus One phone is incapable of the high-speed Internet connections it promises.

In two separate orders, U.S. District Judge Edward Davila granted motions to dismiss the suits against Google, which designed the phone, and HTC, which manufactured the phone, but granted the consumer plaintiffs leave to amend.

The case goes back to March 2010, when Pennsylvania resident Mary McKinney sued Google, HTC and T-Mobile USA...
