China Appeals WTO’s Ruling On Zinc, Other Export Limits

Law360, Los Angeles (September 1, 2011, 5:48 PM EDT) -- China announced Wednesday that it has appealed a recent World Trade Organization ruling that export restrictions the country placed on certain forms of bauxite, magnesium, zinc and other raw materials — citing environmental and other concerns — violated trade agreements.

The announcement from China's Ministry of Commerce comes one week after government officials maintained in a report that they still believe the country's restrictions on raw materials are in line with WTO rules.
