Law360, New York (September 01, 2011, 4:01 PM ET) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Monday opened an investigation into the failure of output shafts on certain heavy duty trucks manufactured by a division of Daimler Trucks North America LLC.
The agency said Daimler notified its Office of Defects Investigation about a field service campaign covering the replacement of output shafts in the forward-rear axle carrier of certain class 8 vehicles with ArvinMeritor RT series output shaft assemblies.
