Wi-LAN Sues Apple, HP, Others Over Wireless Handset IP

Law360, New York (September 02, 2011, 1:18 PM ET) -- Wi-LAN Inc. on Thursday took Apple Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and other tech giants to court in Texas for allegedly infringing two widely asserted patents covering wireless handset technology.

The Canadian technology licensing company, a prodigious litigant, claims that the nine defendants make and sell a range of products incorporating technology protected by U.S. Patent Numbers RE37,802 and 5,282,222.
