HuffPo, Others Snared In Latest Webvention Patent Blitz

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 6:36 PM EDT) -- Webvention LLC fired off a suit Thursday in Texas federal court claiming that the websites of 18 companies, including The Huffington Post, Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. and National Oilwell Varco Inc. violate a widely asserted data organization patent.

The suit marks the latest effort by Marshall, Texas-based Webvention to enforce its crown jewel patent, U.S. Patent Number 5,251,294, which covers methods for electronically organizing, presenting and accessing information.
