Davis Polk Reps Murphy In $625M Refinery Sale To Valero

Law360, New York (September 02, 2011, 5:09 PM ET) -- Valero Energy Corp., the largest U.S. oil refiner, said Friday it planned to buy a midsize Louisiana refinery from Murphy Oil Corp. for $325 million and about $300 million in oil inventory.

The Meraux, La., refinery produces 135,000 barrels of oil per day, and sits 40 miles down the Mississippi River from Valero's 250,000-barrel-per-day St. Charles, La., plant. The company said it planned to integrate the flow of crude oil into and refined oil out of the two plants.
