AT&T, Verizon, Others Hit With Mobile Internet IP Suit

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 7:22 PM EDT) -- A wireless patent-licensing company hit AT&T Mobility LLC, Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA Inc. and a Verizon subsidiary with a suit Friday in Delaware federal court, claiming the companies offer smartphones that infringe its patent dealing with Internet access.

Delaware-based Mayfair Wireless LLC claims the four biggest cellphone service providers in the U.S. are importing, marketing and selling smartphones that infringe on the company’s patent covering the wireless broadcast of information between mobile hotspots and cell terminals.
