Former Acting SG Katyal Heads To Hogan Lovells

Law360, New York (September 6, 2011, 1:31 PM EDT) -- Neal Katyal, who became acting solicitor general after Elena Kagan was nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court in May 2010, has joined Hogan Lovells as a partner and will help lead the firm's appellate practice in Washington, it announced Tuesday.

Katyal's long roster of accomplishments includes oral arguments in 15 cases before the Supreme Court, not least among them his representation of Guantanamo Bay detainees who claimed that the use of military tribunals was unconstitutional in the landmark case Hamdan v. Rumsfeld. In June 2006, the...
