Ex-Stanford Employees Must Face Receiver's Suit

Law360, New York (September 06, 2011, 8:44 PM ET) -- A Texas federal judge on Tuesday denied requests by former employees of Robert Allen Stanford to toss a suit brought by Stanford's receiver seeking to recover funds related to an alleged $7 billion Ponzi scheme.

U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey denied 12 motions to dismiss the suit, rejecting arguments from Stanford's ex-employees that receiver Ralph S. Janvey lacked standing to bring his claims of unjust enrichment and that the court did not have jurisdiction over the claims.
