Ex-Iowa Film Office Head Convicted Of Tax Credit Fraud

Law360, New York (September 7, 2011, 5:10 PM EDT) -- An Iowa jury convicted the former head of the Iowa Film Office on Tuesday of falsifying public records, but acquitted him of eight other fraud and misconduct charges over a scandal involving the state's former film tax credit program.

The jury found ex-IFO Director Thomas Wheeler guilty of one count of felonious misconduct in office for either faking public records or knowingly entering falsified materials into the public records, state attorney general Tom Miller said.
