U.S. Steel Can't Get Price-Fixing Suit Canned

Law360, New York (September 08, 2011, 9:32 PM ET) -- A California federal judge on Thursday rejected U.S. Steel Corp. and Pitcal Inc.'s bid to toss a suit accusing several steel companies of fixing prices for steel sheets used to make cans, warning both sides to avoid "hardball tactics."

Plaintiff Stanislaus Food Products Co. raised one or more legitimate issues that would require discovery before it could respond to the defendants' summary judgment motion, U.S. District Judge Lawrence O'Neill said in an order vacating the motion.
