Google, Apple, Others Targeted In Sweeping Email IP Suit

Law360, New York (September 09, 2011, 12:54 PM ET) -- Google Inc., Apple Inc. and AT&T Inc. are among more than two dozen major technology and cable companies targeted in a suit filed Thursday in Texas federal court claiming that their email products infringe a patent for a computer diary.

E-Contact Technologies LLC claims that the defendants' email services infringe a single patent for "a computer diary (that) archives a diary entry by creating, time stamping, authenticating and permanently storing a reference data block along with each diary entry."
