US Fidelis Creditors Rip $57M Mepco Claim

Law360, New York (September 9, 2011, 7:43 PM EDT) -- Unsecured creditors of U.S. Fidelis Inc. sued Mepco Finance Corp. in Missouri bankruptcy court on Tuesday to disallow a $57 million claim against the defunct auto warranty dealer's estate, arguing that Mepco should have known about the company's alleged false marketing and refund abuses.

“Mepco should not be permitted to stand above the fray, pointing its finger at all of the players in the industry and placing the blame on them,” the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors for U.S. Fidelis Inc. said in its 64-page complaint....
