Media Download Site Operators Targeted In DOJ Probe

Law360, Los Angeles (September 9, 2011, 5:48 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal grand jury has indicted five individuals on copyright infringment and conspiracy charges for their alleged involvement with NinjaVideo.net, a website that allowed users to illegally download movies and television shows, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday.

NinjaVideo offered many high-quality movie downloads to its users while the films were stilll being shown in theaters or, in some instances, before the motion picture had been released, justice officials said in a statement. The website operated from February 2008 until it was shut down...
