Lawmakers Weigh Amendments To Data Breach Law

Law360, New York (September 15, 2011, 2:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee took a step toward advancing comprehensive data security and breach notification legislation on Thursday, considering amendments aimed at curbing overreaching criminal prosecutions, limiting states’ power to hire outside counsel and eliminating uniform data security programs.
