Strong Start For Asia-Pacific Trade Talks In Chicago: US

Law360, New York (September 9, 2011, 8:58 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Trade Representative's office said Friday that negotiators at work on the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement are reporting "good progress" just a few days into the latest round of talks in Chicago.

Slated to run from Sept. 6 to Sept. 15, the summit marks the eighth bout of negotiations between the U.S., Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam aimed at hammering out the details of the TPP deal, which would eliminate tariffs on goods traded among the member nations.
