Skadden Advises Broadcom In $3.7B NetLogic Purchase

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 2:35 PM EDT) -- Broadcom Corp., a leading producer of semiconductors for telecommunications and gaming gadgets, announced Monday it would acquire NetLogic Microsystems Inc. and its line of high-performance microchips for $3.7 billion.

Irvine, Calif.-based Broadcom will pay $50 per share for NetLogic, a leader in smart chips and knowledge-based processors, in an all-cash deal unveiled in regulatory filings. The sale price represents a 57 percent premium over NetLogic's closing share price Friday.
