Rexam, Asbestos Makers Must Pay $7.5M For Exposure

Law360, New York (September 12, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana jury on Thursday hit Rexam Beverage Can Co. and two asbestos product makers with a $7.5 million verdict on behalf of a 66-year-old man who contracted malignant mesothelioma after decades of working in manufacturing plants.

Jurors in Orleans Parish found that negligence on the part of Rexam, John Crane Inc. and Haveg Inc. left Thomas Kenney exposed to dangerous levels of asbestos over more than 20 years.
