Judge Denies Samsung's Appeal Of Sanctions In Mosaid's Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 8, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.S. federal judge has denied the appeal of the remaining two sanctions against Samsung Electronics Co. for destroying evidence in a patent dispute with Canadian rival Mosaid Technologies Inc.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald Hedges of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey found that Samsung engaged in ``spoliation of evidence,'' and the court affirmed the sanction of $566,840 imposed on Samsung to compensate Mosaid.
