First-To-File Patent System To Favor Big Biz

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 6:02 PM ET) -- Shifting the U.S. from a first-to-invent to first-to-file patent system as mandated by the newly passed America Invents Act will bring clarity to patent law, but the change presents a steep learning curve for many applicants and could put small companies at a great disadvantage, attorneys say.
