FTC Approves Fiserv's $465M CashEdge Buy

Law360, New York (September 13, 2011, 6:38 PM EDT) -- U.S. antitrust regulators on Tuesday signed off on financial-sector technology service provider Fiserv Inc.'s proposed $465 million acquisition of CashEdge Inc., bringing the deal one step closer to completion.

The Federal Trade Commission notified the two companies that it had granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, meaning the agency has completed its review of the deal and determined that it passed antitrust muster.

Representatives for Brookfield, Wis.-based Fiserv could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
