Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 12:43 PM ET) -- Former New York City Council President Andrew Stein was sued Tuesday by a well-known midtown jeweler and his wife for allegedly bilking them out of $150,000 in a scheme involving disgraced attorney and money manager Kenneth Ira Starr.
Jacob Arabov, nicknamed "Jacob the Jeweler," and his wife, Angela, say Stein convinced them to buy an equity interest in Wind River LLC by promising guaranteed returns. Stein used Starr as a go-between, apparently to give a feeling of legitimacy to the deal, according to the complaint....
