CSIRO Wins Injunction In Wi-Fi Patent Suit

Law360, New York (June 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Australian national science research agency has won a permanent injunction against a Japanese technology company over a patent for wireless technology which may also add ammunition to the agency's suits against technology giants such as Microsoft Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Intel Corp.

Judge Leonard T. Davis of the Eastern District of Texas granted the permanent injunction against Japanese manufacturer Buffalo Technology and its Austin, Texas-based unit to the Australian government's principal scientific research group, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization.
