DOT Fines Amadeus Over Code-Sharing Violations

Law360, New York (September 15, 2011, 4:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation fined Amadeus IT Group SA $95,000 on Thursday for providing software that led travel agencies to violate a requirement to inform customers which airlines would operate their flights.

Amadeus, which provides one of the top air travel reservation systems in the world, is the first company of its kind to be fined for violating new disclosure requirements that went into effect in January.
