Sony, HP Among Targets Of Ethernet Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 2:54 PM ET) -- Sony Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. were among companies targeted in a patent suit filed Thursday in Texas federal court alleging infringement of Ethernet network technology.

Patent-holding company Network-1 Security Solutions Inc. contends the defendants infringe a single patent for technology used to power equipment over an Ethernet network, a system of wires and devices that connects computers so that they are able to work together.
