Nintendo Wii Targeted Over Wireless Controller Patent

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 12:35 PM EDT) -- Nintendo Co. Ltd. was sued Thursday in Texas by a laser pointer maker alleging the Japanese company's importing and selling of the popular Wii gaming system infringes a patent for wireless display controllers.

UltimatePointer LLC says Nintendo and 17 retailers of the Wii console — including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Best Buy Co. Inc. and others — have either infringed or induced infringement of the company's patent by making, selling and importing the wireless remote-controlled video game system.
