Qualitest Recalls Mispackaged Birth Controll Pills

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 4:49 PM ET) -- Qualitest Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced a voluntary nationwide recall Thursday of multiple lots of Cycladem, Gildess, Tri-Previfem and several other oral contraceptives due to a packaging error that could leave women without adequate protection from pregnancy.

The Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. subsidiary chose to implement the voluntary recall after discovering that select blisters were rotated 180 degrees within the blister pack card, an error that reversed the weekly tablet orientation and made the lot number and expiration date no longer visible.
