Hulu, Analytics Co. Hit With Web Tracking Action

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 10:33 PM EDT) -- Four Texas residents hit online video streamer Hulu LLC and website analytics company Space Pencil Inc. with a putative class action in California federal court Wednesday, claiming they track consumers' Internet surfing habits using methods that circumvent privacy controls.

Named plaintiffs Susan Couch, Cristina Garza, Concepcion Jauregui and Silviano Moncada say Space Pencil — which does business as KISSmetrics — and Hulu work with advertising networks to track users' personal information through technology that allows browser cookies to “respawn” even if they are deleted.
