7th Circ. Revives Johnson & Bell Atty's Bias Suit

Law360, New York (September 21, 2011, 4:48 PM ET) -- The Seventh Circuit on Wednesday overturned a lower court's decision to stay a former Johnson & Bell Ltd. associate's federal discrimination suit against the law firm while his appeal of a state court's dismissal of his Illinois law claims is pending.

The appeals court found that even though Meanith Huon's federal suit against the litigation boutique might ultimately be barred by the resolution of his state court appeal, his federal claims should not be allowed to languish while that appeal proceeds.
