ITC Probes Sony, Others Over Digital Frame Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (September 21, 2011, 7:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission announced Wednesday it was investigating whether Sony Corp., Eastman Kodak Co. and a host of others infringed four patents held by Technology Properties Ltd. LLC covering certain digital photo frames and image display devices.

The commission voted to launch an investigation into 20 companies based on the Aug. 24 complaint filed by TPL, headquartered in Cupertino, Calif. TPL alleges the companies, which are based in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Taiwan, have violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930...
