Head Of France's Servier Probed Over Diabetes Drug

Law360, New York (September 21, 2011, 7:11 PM EDT) -- The head of French pharmaceuticals company Servier Laboratories is reportedly facing a fraud investigation over the now-banned diabetes drug Mediator, which has been linked to the deaths of 500 people over the past three decades.

Jacques Servier and five Servier units are being investigated on various fraud allegations, including misleading the public about product quality and improperly obtaining authorization for the drug, Agence France-Presse reported on Wednesday.
