NY Port Authority Immune From WTC Attack Claims

Law360, New York (September 22, 2011, 2:48 PM EDT) -- New York's highest state court ruled Thursday that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey was entitled to government immunity against claims that it failed to prevent the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Nearly 650 plaintiffs filed suit against the Port Authority for negligence following the attack, alleging it failed to provide adequate security in a parking garage where two terrorists detonated a fertilizer bomb that killed six and injured close to 1,000.
