Apple Settles 2 Suits Over Audio System Patents

Law360, New York (September 23, 2011, 5:46 PM ET) -- Apple Inc. on Friday resolved a pair of lawsuits lodged by patent licensing firm Affinity Labs of Texas LLC, which had alleged that the technology giant was unlawfully using several of its audio system and media management patents in its mobile devices.

The companies agreed to settle lawsuits in California and Texas federal courts alleging that Apple was incorporating five Affinity technology patents into its iPhone and iPod devices, and its iTunes media provider service.

Terms of the settlement agreements were not disclosed.
