Occlutech CEO Nabs Win In Patent Row With St. Jude Unit

Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 7:12 PM ET) -- Occlutech AB said Monday that a German court has struck down a patent infringement claim related to medical implants used to treat structural heart defects that was filed against the company's CEO by a unit of St. Jude Medical Inc.

In a statement, Occlutech said the district court in Dusseldorf, Germany, had issued a ruling on Sept. 8 rejecting a claim by St. Jude's AGA Medical Inc. that Occlutech CEO Tor Peters had violated a medical device patent related to intravascular occlusion devices. The ruling follows...
