Cravath Reps AmerisourceBergen In $250M CVS Unit Buy

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Drug wholesaler AmerisourceBergen Corp. said Tuesday it had agreed to pay $250 million for a CVS Caremark Corp. unit that provides pharmaceutical companies with consulting and reimbursement services.

AmerisourceBergen's purchase of TheraCom LLC comes as it tries to expand its service businesses for drugmakers and health care providers.

“The acquisition of TheraCom will significantly increase the size and scope of our consulting services offering and meaningfully expands our reimbursement, adherence and patient access services for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers,” AmerisourceBergen CEO Steven H. Collis said.
