Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 3:38 PM ET) -- Private equity firm KPS Capital Partners LP announced Thursday that it had acquired United Copper, a privately owned producer of copper wire, promising more moves to increase its copper and metal holdings.
The firm, whose $2.9 billion portfolio spans sectors from automotive to beer, gains UCI's Dallas-area copper wire and cable factory in the deal with Grupo IUSA, the Mexican industrial conglomerate that founded UCI as a toehold in the U.S. electrical market in 1999. Terms of the transaction were not immediately disclosed.
