Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 6:08 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced Thursday that it had reached a settlement with rival Handa Pharmaceuticals LLC in several suits in New Jersey over Handa's bid to produce a generic version of the schizophrenia drug Seroquel XR.
Under the agreement, AstraZeneca will license Handa to enter the U.S. market with a generic version of Seroquel XR on Nov. 1, 2016. AstraZeneca's patents for the drug range in expiration dates from March 2012 to November 2017.
