Garmin Hit With Infringement Suit Over 9 GPS Patents

Law360, New York (September 30, 2011, 3:17 PM ET) -- A technology consulting company on Thursday hit Garmin International Inc. with a suit in Nevada alleging the GPS manufacturer’s devices infringe the company’s patents covering navigation systems.

Silver State Intellectual Technologies Inc. is seeking to block Garmin from making, importing, distributing or selling GPS devices that allegedly infringe nine patents, according to the complaint filed in a Nevada federal court.
