Social Networking Sites Need To Be More Kid-Safe: EU

Law360, Chicago (September 30, 2011, 6:18 PM EDT) -- A European Commission report released Friday found that social networking websites need to amp up their privacy protections for underage users.

The commission said it tested nine websites between March and June to assess how well online community providers have implemented the self-regulatory agreement called "Safer Social Networking Principles for the EU" that the commission brokered with industry players in 2009.
