Body Scan Co. Hit With Class Suit Over Shady Contracts

Law360, Chicago (October 3, 2011, 3:01 PM EDT) -- Medical imaging company Heart Check America Inc. was slapped with a putative class action in Illinois on Thursday alleging that it lured consumers into deceptive, long-term contracts for unauthorized medical services before boarding up its operations in the state.

In their state court complaint, Robert Winkler and his wife, Anne, assert that they made about a dozen payments under their 10-year Heart Check contract for preventative diagnostic scans before learning that the California-based company had shuttered its Tinley Park, Ill., facilities.
